‘Tis the season to Inspire Good and demonstrate that businesses can have a heart as well as a profit motive!
Businesses join forces to support families in food poverty at Christmas.
Networking group, Inspire Good, has teamed up with the North East Initiative on Business Ethics (NIBE) to throw a festive event under the North East Ethical Business banner to raise awareness of the importance of ethical business practice and to support Feeding Families, a charity that provides food hampers to alleviate hunger and support those struggling with the added pressures of the season.
The morning event will take place at the headquarters of Britain’s largest listed technology company Sage who are supplying coffee, mince pies and Christmas choir entertainment. All guests are invited to bring a food donation to contribute to the Feeding Families hampers.
Designed to provide a support network for businesses and charities to explore ways to learn and share knowledge, Inspire Good has brought together over 180 charities and businesses since its inception in October 2018. The North East Initiative on Business Ethics was founded in 2013 to make the north east known as a great place to do business in every sense. We set up to encourage responsible business practice and challenge cases where ethical behaviour has fallen short of acceptable practice.
Lindsay Phillips, Executive Vice President, Product Delivery UKI at Sage says: ‘We’re delighted to welcome the North East Initiative on Business Ethics and Inspire Good to our headquarters to help raise awareness of business ethics and raise money for Feeding Families Christmas Hamper Appeal. We’re already a collection point for the Hamper Appeal so we’d be delighted if people could bring spare items of food as a contribution. Ethical business practice is so important. We at SAGE share NIBE’s vision to make the North East known as a great place to do business – in every sense”
50% of ticket sales will go to direct to The Feeding Families Christmas Appeal with the remainder going to support the work of NIBE.
