You are warmly invited to attend this inaugural Sustainability Dialogue event at Durham University Business School.

The decade beginning in 2020 has been described as the decisive decade to determine the long-term environmental, social and economic impact of climate change. In response to this, we have assembled a high-profile panel to offer their perspectives on the issue of Leadership in the time of Climate Crisis.

The current generation has been defined as unique in having both the necessary data and information to be aware of the problem, and the time and potential to put in place the changes required to avoid the worst-case scenarios. The next decade is also the timeframe in which action must be taken in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

DUBS is engaging with current and future business leaders to foster a debate and identify what is required from leaders to respond to this challenge. The School is also reaching out to other faculties and departments across the University to foster a broader debate about the correct response to the challenges of the next decade.

The DUBS Sustainability Dialogue is a new platform to support the University in convening interdisciplinary and public dialogue with a focus on action.

Professor Susan Hart, Executive Dean of the Business School, will provide a welcome and introduce Professor Stuart Corbridge, the Univeristy’s Vice-Chancellor who will offer some opening remarks. The panellists will then speak, leading into an open Q&A.
