North East Initiative on Business Ethics
Promoting ethical business across the North East.
The North East Initiative on Business Ethics (NIBE) was established in May 2013 as an independent regional resource with an aspiration to become a focal point for good business behaviour. Working across the twelve Local Authority areas covered by the North East and Tees Valley Local Enterprise Partnerships, our desire is to see the region recognised as a great place to do trustworthy, honest and transparent business.
Our mission is to encourage businesses to: Have a stated purpose, Have an ethical policy, Demonstrate how they operate within the policy, Operate within the law. We are achieving this by working with like minded businesses, promoting community engagement, raising the issue of ethical business practices and sharing the best of what we find.
There has never been a better time to think about ethics in the business world, with issues such as late payment, apprenticeships, single use plastics, the gig economy, living wage and rogue tradespeople ever present in the media.
Please support our campaign to make the North East an ethical place to do business.
